Brass instrument damage comes in many shapes and forms. We make sure your valves and slides move smoothly, solder joints are secure, and air flows freely.

Common brass repairs

  • Stuck mouthpieces, slides, valves, and rotors
  • Broken solder joints and braces
  • Dentwork throughout the instrument
  • Bent lead pipes and stems
  • Trombone slide diagnosis and rework
  • Water keys, springs, and rotor strings

Common services

Brass Repair Services

  • Ultrasonic cleaning

Full disassembly and an ultrasonic bath to break up corrosion, the raw brass cleaned by hand, then put back together with fresh grease and oil.

  • Quick fixes

Small, on-the-spot repairs that don't need soldering, like a part that's come loose.

  • Dents, solder work, and slides

Dentwork throughout the instrument, broken solder joints made secure, and trombone slides diagnosed and reworked.

Every instrument needs something a little different, so your price comes on your official estimate, and nothing starts until you approve it.

How pricing works

You Approve the Price Before We Start

No surprise charges. Here's what happens from the moment your instrument comes in.

  1. Reach out

Call, email, or send the form and tell us what the instrument is doing.

  2. We evaluate it

Free for woodwinds, brass, strings, and percussion. Amps and keyboards have a $56 diagnostic, credited toward the repair.

  3. Get an official estimate

Parts, labor, and a time frame, all spelled out. No work starts until you approve it.

  4. Nothing added without your OK

If we find something else once it's open, we call you first and wait for your answer.

  5. Check it, then pay

You pay for the work you approved, after you've played it. Every repair is backed for 30 days.

Your official estimate lists the labor and any parts your repair needs before you approve it.

Common questions

Brass Repair Questions

  • Usually, and often on the spot, depending on how busy the bench is.

  • We take the instrument completely apart and run it through an ultrasonic cleaner to break up the corrosion inside, then clean the raw brass by hand. It goes back together with fresh grease and oil. Port alignment and water key parts are extra, and they'll be on your estimate if it needs them.

  • No. We evaluate woodwind, brass, string, and percussion instruments for free and give you an official estimate. You decide whether we go ahead.

  • Our goal is one week for most repairs. If your instrument needs parts ordered or more time on the bench, we'll tell you before then, not after.

  • Bring it back. Every repair is guaranteed for 30 days, and we'll fix the issue for free. The guarantee doesn't cover instruments that have been dropped or mishandled.
