What we fix

When It Plays, Just Not Well

Most woodwind trouble starts small: a pad that stops sealing, a key that drifts out of adjustment. Left alone, it turns into notes that won't speak. We find the cause and fix it, so the instrument works with you instead of against you.

Common woodwind repairs

  • Leaking, sticky, or torn pads
  • Keys out of adjustment and lost motion
  • Broken springs and loose screws
  • Worn tenon, neck, and head joint corks
  • Dents and loose posts or ribs
  • Full repads, cleanings, and polishing

Common services

Woodwind Repair Services

  • Play condition

Every pad seated, every key adjusted, and lost motion taken out.

  • Clean, oil, and adjust

Full disassembly, ultrasonic cleaning for metal, bore oil for wood; the keys cleaned and oiled, then everything a play condition covers.

  • Repads, dents, and solder work

Every pad replaced on a full repad, dents worked out of the body and joints, and loose posts and ribs resoldered.

Every instrument needs something a little different, so your price comes on your official estimate, and nothing starts until you approve it.

How pricing works

You Approve the Price Before We Start

No surprise charges. Here's what happens from the moment your instrument comes in.

  1. Reach out

Call, email, or send the form and tell us what the instrument is doing.

  2. We evaluate it

Free for woodwinds, brass, strings, and percussion. Amps and keyboards have a $56 diagnostic, credited toward the repair.

  3. Get an official estimate

Parts, labor, and a time frame, all spelled out. No work starts until you approve it.

  4. Nothing added without your OK

If we find something else once it's open, we call you first and wait for your answer.

  5. Check it, then pay

You pay for the work you approved, after you've played it. Every repair is backed for 30 days.

Your official estimate lists the labor and any parts your repair needs before you approve it.

Common questions

Woodwind Repair Questions

  • A play condition seats the pads you have and adjusts every key, so the instrument plays well again. A clean, oil, and adjust adds full disassembly, ultrasonic cleaning for metal instruments, and bore oil for wood ones. A repad does all of that and replaces every pad. We'll tell you which one your instrument actually needs.

  • No. We evaluate woodwind, brass, string, and percussion instruments for free and give you an official estimate. You decide whether we go ahead.

  • Our goal is one week for most repairs. If your instrument needs parts ordered or more time on the bench, we'll tell you before then, not after.

  • Bring it back. Every repair is guaranteed for 30 days, and we'll fix the issue for free. The guarantee doesn't cover instruments that have been dropped or mishandled.
